Exploration

Below you'll find various visual or narrative concepts conceived, filmed, and edited quickly, without full-scale production or even brand association. These are experiments and explorations we still find ourselves recalling from time to time.

My First Nudes

(hi mom!)

Subject: Jens Stoltze, founder + editor of S Magazine and noted Danish photographer living in New York City

This summer, I'm hosting a book launch with the handsome, charming and brilliant (and straight) Jens Stoltze of S Magazine. His new book, BOY KEN, examines the male figure through semi-erotic imagery juxtaposed against rugged American landscapes shot by Jens over the course of last year. When producing the invitation and outreach materials, I had only one stipulation: Jens had to hire me, a gay man, to photograph him, naked and semi-erotic, reading his own book of male semi-erotic imagery.

Luckily for all of us, Mr. Stoltze is in truly stellar shape.

His book BOY KEN is available now. You may submit your name for an RSVP to the July 20 launch event at this link.

The Modern Business Card

There is no point to giving away your business card in 2018. It wastes paper, it creates clutter and it isn't digitally transferable.

I tell my clients a business card should have an expected lifespan of about 4.5 seconds—and no more. It's about creating a singular, indelible impression through design; instead of telling me how to reach you, why don't you just tell me who you are? If you can engineer even the briefest moment of joy, or curiosity, or gratitude through the gift of handing out your business card, you've already accomplished more than a fax machine ever could.
